Dermal fillers are injectable soft gels that are composed of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid. As we age, we tend to lose structure and volume in our face resulting in wrinkling and the development of facial folds. At Springfield Cosmetic, we use various types of dermal fillers to restore a more youthful appearance and also to enhance your most beautiful facial features.
DO I NEED BOTOX® | Xeomin® OR DERMAL FILLERS?If you have a wrinkle on your face that is produced by muscle movement (such as frowning or lifting the muscles in your forehead) then the solution is most likely BOTOX® or Xeomin®. If you have a wrinkle or line on your face that is present without any muscle movement (smile lines or “parentheses” from the corners of the nose to corners of the mouth) then the solution is most likely to be resolved with a dermal filler treatment. A treatment plan can be developed specifically for your concerns during a consultation.
WHAT KIND OF DERMAL FILLERS DO I NEED?We use Juvederm® Ultra XC and Juvederm® Ultra Plus XC by Allergan as well as Radiesse® and Beletero® by Merz Aethetics. Each of these products is slightly unique and help us to customize the treatment plan for your specific needs. Part of a patients plan involves an indepth treatment plan with the doctor and staff to chose the right product for your needs.

All the fillers we use are either infused with Lidocaine or we will use a topical to significantly reduce the discomfort of the treatment. For the hyluronic acid fillers (Juvederm®) are reversible by injecting a solution called hyaluronidase which will completely break down the dermal filler in about 24 hours.
WHERE CAN I GET DERMAL FILLERS INJECTED?Dermal fillers can be injected in many areas depending on whether you are looking to restore volume loss or to produce an augmentation. When restoring volume loss, the most common places to get the fillers injected are below the eyes (tear trough) to reduce under-eye hollow appearance and darkening, receding cheeks, and above the top lip to treat vertical lip lines and the smile lines from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). Popular areas for augmentation include the lips and cheeks. You can also use dermal fillers to shape jaw lines and eyebrows.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF DERMAL FILLERS?The most common side effects from dermal fillers are localized swelling and possible bruising. Treatment side effects are usually mild to moderate, lasting 7 days or less, and include temporary injection-site reactions such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. We do not recommend dermal filler treatments if you have a major event to attend in the next two weeks. It´s also best to refrain from Aspirin or Ibuprofen/Motrin and various supplements about 7 days prior to your treatment.

Medical Grade Peels
The human skin is the largest organ in the human body and is exposed to UV sun damage, neglect, and the natural aging proccess. As we grow older, prior neglect or damage to the skin begins to appear in a variety of ways; pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, wrinkles, uneven skin tone etc. Many of these underlying conditions can either be corrected or deferred through the use of medical grade chemical peels, microdermabrasion, cosmeceuticals, and lasers. The science that accompanies these treatment modalities is just as important since there are many products and claims to reverse the process of the aging skin.
The one truth about skincare is that it is never too early to start to take care of your skin. Chemical Peels in conjunction with microdermabrasion is a great starting point to achieving your desire for younger, healthier looking skin and is still considered to be the “gold standard” amongst dermatologists. There are a variety of different chemical peels available and each type of chemical peel has varying benefits. As part of your initial consultation we will discuss with you the various types of peels and the added benefit of microdermabrasion. In addition, we will advise you of various cosmeceutical products available to maintain or correct various skin disorders and help devise a maintenance program so you may enjoy the results of your treatments for many years to come.
The goal of facial aesthetics and the endpoint to the series of treatments of chemical peels and microdermabrasion is to promote exfoliation of the epidermis, induce wounding of the dermis, and allow for increased lymph flow which provides cleansing, toning and reduced inflammation. By wounding the dermis, the dermal layer will heal itself by producing more collagen that in turn will reduce or reverse dermal thinning, thus improving tone, texture, tonicity and reducing wrinkle precursors.
In essence, by wounding the skin we are allowing the skin to heal itself, reduce the thickening of the epidermis, allow for more blood flow and nutrients to the skin. Promoting increased collagen production will allow for greater elasticity of the skin and correction prior skin conditions caused by UV exposure or of the aging process.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy involves a series of injections with vitamins and medication placed under the skin’s surface. It is used to minimize cellulite and encourage weight loss. It is also used to breakdown “eye fat and under the chin fat”. Mesotherapy is the only effective treatment for cellulite, and is an excellent choice for someone who wants to avoid having surgery.
HOW LONG HAS MESOTHERAPY BEEN AROUND?
Since 1950, this procedure was founded in Europe by a French doctor and has been proven to be safe and effective.
All mesotherapy clients must have a consultation before their first treatment. Numbing is recommended and offered when you arrive 1 hour prior to your appointment. The needles are small and short making this procedure less painful. Must wait 3 weeks before the same area is injected (treated) again. However, other areas may be treated 1 week after initial service.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Generally the face (eye and chin) needs only 1 to 3 treatments. Weight loss and cellulite need more and are based on the stage of cellulite. E.g., is dimpling visible when pinched? Or is dimpling present when standing? Treatments range from 4-10 depending on the severity of cellulite. We recommend that they are spaced 3 weeks apart for the same area and 1 week apart for multiple areas. During consultation, you will be given an estimate of charges on an individual basis. We recommend becoming a member or purchasing a package of Mesotherapy treatments in advance.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Side effects with mesotherapy treatments include swelling and bruising in the area, which generally fade in 1 week.
